  • Reserving role with a focus on US casualty lines (GL, D&O, PI, amongst others) and Special Risks (predominately Kidnap & Ransom and Fine Art).
  • In-house Tyche developer, building out a reserving end-to-end system in T#.

  • Valuation of loss reserves for a number of captives, segregated account companies, commercially licensed (re)insurers and ILS vehicles writing Workers’ Compensation, US Excess Casualty, Professional Lines, Property Cat and many other classes of business.
  • Prepare the Loss Reserve Specialist Opinion and actuarial report supporting, including computing Economic Balance Sheet (Bermuda’s Solvency II equivalent regime) technical provisions.
  • Lead the actuarial specialist support for the external audit of a listed run-off specialist (re)insurer through which gained detailed knowledge of run-off considerations: reserving, capital constraints and risk transfer mechanisms (LPTs, RITCs, Part VII transfers, etc.).
  • External audit assistance with actuarial re-projections and assessing the reasonableness of the loss reserves across numerous lines including Workers’ Compensation and APH.
  • Risk transfer contract reviews under FASB ASC 944, generally computing an ERD for evaluation.
  • Credit risk modelling experience through IFRS 9 expected credit losses in loan loss provisioning as well as in the valuation of complex financial guarantees covering single & multiple borrower defaults with underlying exposure to PE, CLO and revolving finance facility performance.
  • Familiar with the BSCR and other BMA regulatory filing requirements for licensed P&C (re)insurers through a variety of advisory projects.
  • Responsible for client delivery, relationships, business development and managing and developing junior staff members.
